Not that exciting, but there's not much to try shooting in the living room. Softboxes arrive just after new years.

I'm still SO bad about updating regularly. Time just keeps flying by. So let's see...

The girls arrive this weekend and are here for several days. We have a tentative on getting them for spring break too which is AMAZING!

We haven't made too much progress on painting the interior of the house. I bought the paint for the master bedroom but we procrastinated it this past weekend.

We are having Lauren/Doug as well as Bengt's dad and step-mother over for a yule dinner on Saturday. I'm really excited for that. Right now the menu is: Roast duck w/ a cherry-onion jam, yams, pan-fried brussel sprouts w/ bacon, apple-sage stuffing, baked apples w/ice cream and starters are bread, cheese, foie gras (from our honeymoon!), dilly beans, and apple-honey jelly. I've been waiting for an excuse to make the duck because it's been in our freezer for awhile.

We weren't planning on putting up a tree but I started feeling like the house wasn't particularly festive so we went tromping around in the drizzle on Saturday and found one near the house to cut down. So now we have the tree up and the cats/dogs are trying to destroy it. I also got most of the gifts wrapped.

It's really weird not to have any of my family around for the holiday. It's just going to be us for a couple days.

The baby chicks are growing and doing well. I opened up the brooder box this weekend so they have more room. I've had more people wanting eggs from me than I have eggs to sell which is really nice, but also frustrating because I have to turn people down.

In other get-rich schemes I've purchased some used pro quality studio lighting. Immediate plans are to start working on my portfolio again. The lights themselves arrive TOMORROW which is almost as exciting as yule itself!

We've made a joint new year resolution to not purchase any factory/cruelty meat (or products) this year. It will be challenging, even for us. I don't know if I can go a whole year with out a single trip to Taco Bell :)

I think that's about it for now. I'm still at work (more or less) this week, but incredibly unmotivated to be very productive. I wish I could stay home but I have a few reports to do and tomorrow I have a single meeting. I'll probably work from home on Wednesday though, this place will be a complete ghost town.
